The Chillicothe Board of Education has enacted a “Pay to Participate” policy for athletics in the Chillicothe City Schools. While it is regrettable to have to institute such a policy, the financial situation in the school district makes it necessary to help defray the costs of the athletic programs. Ohio AP State Rankings...
Jalen Ragland was named the 2011 Division II All-Ohio first team. Go to story.
Oates invited to Elite Volleyball Camp with Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
Chillicothe Junior Alyssa Oates has been invited to the Elite Volleyball Camp sponsored by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association. Only 72 athletes are accepted at the camp that is held each year at Ohio Northern University. The camp is run by collegiate coaches and offers a great recruiting atmosphere for female athletes that wish to play at the next level. Alyssa recorded 203 kills averaging 2.7 kills per game, served 84% with 44 aces, and had 55 blocks this past season for CHS and helped lead the Cavaliers to a Division I Sectional title in the Central District. Alyssa was a team captain, all SEOAL, all District 14, and was awarded Chillicothe Best Offensive Player in 2010. The camp takes place July.

On January 27th, The Ohio Association of Track and Cross County Coaches awarded the Southeast District Girls Track Coach of the Year to Steve Semancik of Chillicothe High School.

The Chillicothe High School Athletic Department joins the Cavalier Club in extending an invitation to you to become a member of the 200 Club. The 200 Club promotes the enhancement of all athletic programs by upgrading facilities, purchasing uniforms and equipment, funding programs and providing opportunities for our student-athletes that normal revenues do not cover. Baseball Announcement
The Chillicothe Boy's Baseball team will begin tournament play May 7th. They will be playing Vinton County. Game time is 1 PM. The venue has changed. The game will be played at the VA Paints Stadium. Chillicothe will be the home team. Admission will be $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Please come out and support the team.
 William R. "Rey" Bradley
William R. "Rey" Bradley, 56, of Chillicothe, died 10:50 a.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the Chillicothe High School Gymnasium, with Pastor Obadiah Harris officiating. Doors will open at 12 p.m. for the funeral. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the CHS.
