In third singles, junior Nick Payne lost to Larry Wu 6-2, 6-0. In first doubles, junior John Lods and sophomore Gabe Seymour lost to Rahman Al-Hogbani and Sam Miner 3-6, 6-3, 2-6. In second doubles, sophomores Grant Markley and Tyler Allen defeated Matt White and Joe Tysko 6-3, 6-4. The Cavaliers are now 12-4 overall.

This is the first league title for the boy’s tennis team since CHS joined the SEOAL. Today was senior day and senior Andy Clark was honored before the match. In first singles, John Lods defeated Wes Cline 6-0, 6-2. In second singles, Gabe Seymour defeated Alex Stern 6-1, 6-2. In third singles, Tyler Allen defeated Cody Kriechbaum 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. In first doubles, Grant Markley and Justin Ball defeated Zach Mullen and Cody Morrow 6-1, 7-6(7-5). In second doubles, Andy Clark and Dallin Patino defeated Spencer Duckworth and Eric McCauley 6-1, 6-1. The Cavaliers finished league play undefeated at 7-0 and are 12-3 overall.

May 2, 2009 - Village Cup Tournament
The Cavaliers competed against Columbus area schools including Village Academy, Wellington and Olentangy Orange. The team acquitted itself well coming in third place winning 97 games, well ahead of Olentangy Orange which won 53. CHS finished just behind Village Academy which won 107 games. Wellington won the most games with 138. Sophomore Gabe Seymour scored first place in second singles competition, while junior John Lods placed second in first singles.

In third singles, sophomore Tyler Allen (CHS) lost to Josh Jackson 6-3, 6-4. In first doubles, sophomores Grant Markley and Justin Ball (CHS) lost to Quint Nibert and Jordan Cornwell 7-6(9-7), 6-3. In a tight second doubles match, senior Andy Clark and sophomore Dallin Patino (CHS) defeated Mollie Blake and Cody Billings 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. The Cavaliers are now 8-1overall and 4-0 in the SEOAL South Division.

The Cavaliers’ victory was the second over Logan this season. In first singles, sophomore Gabe Seymour (CHS) handily defeated Scott Poindexter 6-0, 6-0. In second singles, sophomore Tyler Allen (CHS) easily defeated Dan Bergreen 6-0, 6-0. In third singles, sophomore Justin Ball (CHS) also easily defeated Sean Clay 6-0, 6-1. In a tight first doubles match, senior Andy Clark and sophomore Dallin Patino (CHS) defeated Joe Dennis and Kurt Geiger 7-5, 5-7, 6-3. In second doubles, junior Colin Mong and senior Daniel Axe (CHS) lost to Kelly Barrell and Eric Vaughn 5-7, 1-6. CHS is now 7-1overall and 3-0 in the SEOAL South Division.

The Cavaliers are now 5-1overall and 3-0 in the SEOAL South Division. In first singles, junior John Lods (CHS) handily defeated Kamal Dayal 6-1, 6-2. In second singles, sophomore Tyler Allen (CHS) easily defeated Tim Huffman 6-0, 6-0. In third singles, sophomore Grant Markley (CHS) lost to Josh Jackson 3-6, 5-7. In first doubles, senior Andy Clark and sophomore Justin Ball (CHS) lost to Quint Nibert and Jordan Cornwell 2-6, 1-6. In first singles, junior John Lods defeated Ian Rowland 6-2, 6-4. In second singles, sophomore Gabe Seymour defeated John Khoury 6-0, 6-4. In third singles, sophomore Tyler Allen defeated Sarah Clayton 7-5, 6-3. In a hard fought first doubles match, sophomores Grant Markley and Justin Ball defeated Tom Khoury and Nick Nelson 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. In another tough match, second doubles Andy Clark and Dallin Patino defeated Tanner Hatcher and Evan Sommer 6-4, 6-7, 6-0.

In second singles, Sophomore Gabe Seymour defeated Mike Kennedy 6-0, 6-0. In third singles, Sophomore Justin Ball defeated Aaron Christian 6-0, 6-0. In first doubles, Sophomores Grant Markley and Tyler Allen defeated Steven Sinnott and Pat Parnell 6-0, 6-2. In second doubles, Senior Andy Clark and Sophomore Dallin Patino defeated Heath Friend and Brice Roach 6-2, 6-4. The Cavaliers are now 4-0.
