Knights Named Red Zone Player of the Year
<< Head Football Coach Bill Davidson presents The Old Spice Red Zone Player of The Year Plaque to Caleb Knights. Caleb is one of fifty recipients nationwide to receive this award. Caleb will be attending Air Force Academy next season on a Football athletic scholarship.

It was announced today that Senior QB/DB Caleb Knights of Chillicothe HS has been selected as one of 50 National Award winners in the Red Zone Player of the Year contest. Caleb was selected from an entry list of over 6,000 nominees nationwide to receive this award. He will receive the award from the Red Zone company and the national award winners will appear in USA Today newspaper on February 4th. Caleb was a 4 year starter who led the Cavaliers to 2 playoff appearances and the second ever win in the playoffs in school history. He owns the school record in passing yardage and will attend The Air Force Academy next year on a Football Athletic Scholarship. Over 4 seasons Caleb passed for over 5,000 yards and rushed for an additional 2,500 yards. Click here to read the Gridiron Gazette.

Ray contributed 118 rushing yards towards the total of almost 400 while Knights completed 15 of 31 passes for 181 yards in the air.

The Cavaliers rushed for almost 300 yards in their 21-7 win over Jackson. The Cavs couldn't get their air game going so QB Caleb Knights took the ball to the ground scoring two touchdowns to go up 14-0. Jackson started to show signs of a comeback late in the game but Zach Ray, on a handoff and strong blocking from Knights, took it to the endzone and gave Chillicothe the win. They Cavaliers host Portsmouth on October 5 at 7:30pm on Homecoming night!

Chillocothe 9 Ironton 34
Quarterback Caleb Knights threw for 143 yards and rushed for 57 yards in the Cavs loss to Ironton. The first quarter came and went without a score but the second quarter saw Ironton score two touchdowns in less than 8 minutes. Chillicothe answered with a 37 yard Drew Basil FG to bring the score to 14-3 at the half. In the second half the Cavs scored a TD but Ironton added three more to their total to bring the final score to 34-9. Zach Ray rushed for 37 yards and the only Cavs touchdown and also caught three passes for 36 yards. The Cavaliers will host Jackson on Sept. 28 at 7:30pm.

Givens to be a RedHawk
Chris Givens has formally announced his intentions to play Football at Miami University. Chris put up 1000 all purpose yards as a junior between quarterback and receiver. He will major in Business Finance at Miami when he starts in the fall of 2007.

The offensive line provided the surge needed for the cavaliers to pound the braves into defeat.
